Rinnai Gas Hot Water System

Rinnai gas hot water systems are divided into two broad categories – gas storage and gas continuous flow.

The gas storage hot water systems are essentially big tanks that use a gas burner to heat up a large body of water, which you then use about the house for those things that need hot water, like showering or washing the dishes. Rinnai offers a medium capacity and a large capacity version.

Both have vitreous enamel lined steel tanks that have an 8-year warranty. Because they store a finite amount of hot water, gas storage systems can run out of hot water, but both the Rinnai storage systems have a first hour re-heating capacity of over 200 litres, so it’s not a long wait for more.

If running out of hot water is a make-or-break issue, there is always a gas continuous flow hot water system. It is also known as instantaneous, with the Rinnai Instantaneous being called Flowmaster 10. It’s got a 5.6 star efficiency rating and doesn’t need to be plugged in.

The rest of the Rinnai range of gas continuous flow hot water systems, called Infinity, never run out and have models that run on either natural gas or LPG.

Rinnai Solar Hot Water System

There are two ranges of Rinnai solar hot water systems. There is the Sunmaster Range and the Prestige Range. The main difference is that the Prestige range has stainless steel tanks whereas Sunmaster has steel tanks lined with vitreous enamel. Each of the ranges is divided into three types.

There are systems with a tank on the ground and flat plate solar panels. Another type has evacuated tube solar collectors on the roof to heat the tank on the ground.

The third type is the more familiar close-coupled unit with the tank on the roof directly above the solar panels. All of these types are variously boosted by either electricity or gas for days when the sun isn’t shining enough.

The evacuated tube models are good for cold climates and can tolerate -12°C.  There really is a comprehensive range of solar hot water with Rinnai.

Those models that are gas boosted use a gas continuous flow booster for maximum savings. And that’s why you choose a Rinnai solar hot water system – to save as much energy as possible.

Rinnai Electric Hot Water System

Rinnai electric hot water systems are electric storage, which means that they are a tank in which water is heated with an electric element. The Rinnai electric storage hot water systems are called Hotflo.

One great advantage of this sort of hot water system is that it delivers hot water at mains pressure to multiple taps. So they are ideal for busy households where the laundry, showers and dishes can coincide. They are also an affordable option because their installation costs tend to be lower than for other systems.

Rinnai electric hot water systems come in sizes that suit all size households with 25, 50, 80, 125, 160, 250, 315 and truly substantial 400 litre models.

For the more environmentally conscious Rinnai has electric heat pumps. There is the all-in-one heat pump called Enviroflo that uses just 300 grams of a refrigerant called R290 to heat the water. That comes in a 250 or 315 litre version.

Rinnai also has a split heat pump with tank and a separate compressor. The tank is made from durable stainless steel and has a 10 year warranty. Rinnai electric hot water systems cater for all sorts of families and can be very economical to run.
