Where Do I Start?
An apprenticeship is the first place to start if you’re not already licensed. You will want to find a licensed plumbing practitioner where you can do your apprenticeship and this is the most important part. During this process, you will also need to obtain a White Card. Holding a valid White Card means that you have completed the general construction induction training course. In Brisbane and Australia as a whole, plumbing apprenticeships are completed over four years. This includes the practical learning side and the theory which is completed at a trade school. At the end of your apprenticeship, you will receive a Certificate III in Plumbing and/or Gas Fitting.
Once you are qualified, you will benefit from the ability to work for yourself, receive financial gain and the benefit of no day ever being the same! Of course, there are downsides, but the positives far outway the negatives.
