Local Adelaide Plumber Finds and Returns Lost Dog
Installing hot water systems and clearing blocked drains is an average day for a Metropolitan technician. However, one of our plumbers recently got a little bit more than he bargained for on a job. What happened next? Well, you’ll have to read on to find out.
On a Friday morning, one of our Adelaide plumbers attended a property to fix a leaking hot water system. The customer had found us on Google and couldn’t wait to book in a service.
The plumber assessed the leaking heat pump hot water system and decided that the best course of action was to replace it. Whilst heat pumps are energy efficient, they are not suitable for cold climates. This is because the longer booster run time reduces the overall efficiency of the unit. They can also be noisy if they are installed in the wrong location. As this particular heat pump unit was rather old and it was installed near a bedroom, the most viable option was a replacement.
We Suggested A Gas Continuous Flow System
The plumber recommended the system be replaced with a gas continuous flow unit to be installed in a more favourable location. Gas continuous flow units are fantastic because they never run out of hot water and last for about 20 years!
They are also extremely energy efficient and use or waste no power keeping the water hot in the tank. Once the plumber had informed the customer of the gas continuous flow benefits, he rushed out to source the new system and began the installation process.
He was about halfway through the installation process when he heard a dog barking on the street. Being the kind and considerate plumber that we expect here at Metropolitan, he rushed out onto the street and found a canine staring back at him.
The Plumber Got Swiftly Into Action
Luckily, the plumber had some rope in his van to use as a makeshift lead to control the dog. He noticed that the dog had an address written on its tag that was only around the corner. He quickly located the dog’s address and returned it to its owner. The owner was ecstatic because the dog had been missing for several hours and they had become quite distressed.
They noted down the name of the plumber and vowed to use him for all future work. The chuffed plumber returned to the original job just five minutes later and recommended the installation of the gas continuous flow unit.
Just one hour later, the customer had a working hot water system again and the neighbourhood was free of lost dogs! They opted to pay for our service using one of our $0 deposit, interest free providers. This story further highlights the fact that our plumbers can really do it all! From dog rescues to hot water system installs, they are here for you.
