About Dux Continuous Flow
Dux manufactures continuous flow hot water systems in two main categories, condensing and non-condensing. Both produce hot water on demand instead of wasting energy on heating water that will just sit in a tank. The most obvious and important variation is that the condensing style of system utilises a newer technology to harness the power of exhaust heat generated when water passes through the primary heat exchanger. These systems employ a second heat exchanger to extract more energy from the exhaust heat, meaning that less energy is wasted.
The Dux range of continuous flow condensing hot water systems can achieve up to 96% efficiency, compared with a non-condensing water heater which can only achieve around 84% efficiency. This is why these units have been awarded a 6.7 star energy efficiency rating. In fact, they have claimed that these condensing units can save the average consumer up to $1000 in costs over the 12 year warranty of the heat exchanger.
Although the range may offer superior energy efficiency, the standard non-condensing models in the Dux continuous flow range are not far behind. These non-condensing units all have been awarded an energy efficiency rating of 6 stars or higher.
The Dux condensing range consists of units in two different capacities, capable of producing 26L and 21L per minute respectively, whilst the non-condensing units come in 17L, 21L and 26L models. The decision as to which capacity and style of continuous flow hot water systems are best suited to you and your family is best made with the assistance of one of our expert plumbers.
