General FAQ

Hot sauces are measured on the Scoville Scale. For over a century, this unit of measurement has been used to rate the amount of capsaicin present in peppers, which is the chemical that gives them their heat. The higher the Scoville rating (SHU), the hotter the sauce.
Currently, Mad Dog 357 No. 9 Plutonium is the hottest sauce in the world. Measuring in at a whopping 9 million SHUs, this sauce is so hot that it comes with a disclaimer that relinquishes the brand from all responsibilities surrounding potential fallout. You can pick up a bottle of Mad Dog 357 No. 9 Plutonium for around $127.
According to the Guinness World Records, the hottest pepper is Smokin Ed's 'Carolina Reaper', which rates at an average of 1,64 million SHU. However, there’s a new challenger on the scene. ‘Dragon’s Breath’ is said to have a rating of 2.48 million SHU. Dragon’s Breath was created by Nottingham Trent University during trials to create a plant food that increases the quality and resistance of plants.

Trent was brilliant, arrived on time and did a great job replacing our kitchen mixer tap on a Saturday evening after our existing tap fell apart. Hoping we don’t need emergency services again, but would definitely use them again!
